NEWSLETTER No.8 of 2024/2025
Dear Member
Yesterday afternoon, the Committee met and one of the topics in the agenda was to discuss future annual branch trips and the trip raffle procedure. During the past few years, there has been little interest to none from the membership in travelling to Old Trafford as an official branch. Could it be because the team is not performing? Could it be because we are no longer allowed to visit Carrington Training Grounds to meet the players? Or, could it be because it is now easier to organize your own trip, instead of waiting for the Committee to organize it for you, who knows?
We decided that for the time being, the Committee would not be organizing any future official branch trips; nevertheless, there will still be a raffle. The winner of the raffle will be able to choose up to two consecutive home matches of his/her choosing, within a week’s timeframe and the travel expenses of up to a maximum of £750 will be paid for by the Committee (Flight & Hotel receipts must be produced). The Committee will not pay traveling expenses of family or friends accompanying the winner.
The draw, as from next season, will take place at our Annual General Meeting at the end of the season. Only those who have become official members for the new season before the AGM will be eligible to the draw. Conditions of entry to the raffle continue the same, which were –
- One ticket for becoming an official member of the club, for the new season.
- One ticket for every 5 attendances (sign in’s) on match days, of the previous season.
- Every raffle ticket you bought on match days and placed adequately in the provided can, the previous season.
If things were to change and there is enough interest from the membership to revert to the Official Branch Trip, the Committee would be more than happy to do so.
Kind Regards
THE COMMITTEE
NEWSLETTER No.7 of 2024/2025
Dear Member
Yesterday afternoon, as per our previous newsletter, the Committee held a meeting to organise this season’s official trip to Old Trafford. As no member attended and the luck of interest shown by the membership, the Committee members present decided to cancel this season’s official trip.
Nevertheless, the raffle took place and we decided to honour our commitment in covering the expenses of up to £750 to the winner, for a match or two of his choosing.
If this is the way to go from now on, would have to be discussed at our next AGM.
Kind Regards
THE COMMITTEE
