{"id":1523,"date":"2024-06-03T09:00:03","date_gmt":"2024-06-03T08:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/manutd-gibraltar.com\/musgb\/?p=1523"},"modified":"2024-08-22T07:43:14","modified_gmt":"2024-08-22T06:43:14","slug":"newsletter-no-16-of-2023-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/manutd-gibraltar.com\/musgb\/newsletter\/newsletter-no-16-of-2023-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"NEWSLETTER No.16 of 2023\/2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dear Member<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As mentioned in Newsletter No.13 of 23\/24, which consisted of the Agenda for the AGM to be held on Thursday 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June 2024 at 7pm at our club premises, the Committee wishes to propose changes to rules, 15, 15.1, 16.1, 16.3, 16.4, 20.2, 21.5, 21.6 and 21.7 of the Club\u2019s Constitution\/Rules as follows. These will be explained and discussed at the AGM.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>15. SMOKING POLICY:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">15.1 The Branch operates a non-smoking policy and smoking is not allowed anywhere within the Branch premises.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>TO READ AS FOLLOWS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong style=\"color: initial;\"><u>VAPING POLICY:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>15.1 The Branch operates a non-vaping policy and vaping is not allowed anywhere within the Branch premises.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>16. THE COMMITTEE:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">16.1 The management of the Branch (except as otherwise provided by these Rules) is entrusted to a Committee of not more than ten Adult Members each of at least one year\u2019s standing and who have been elected at the Annual General Meeting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">16.3 The Committee shall consist of:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>\u00a0a Chairman<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0a Vice Chairman<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0a\u00a0\u00a0Branch Secretary<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0a Treasurer<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0a Membership and Ticketing Secretary<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0a minimum of one Committee Member (with a maximum of five)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">16.4 For the purposes of these Rules, the members of the Committee occupying the posts identified in Rule 16.3 (a) to (e) above shall be the \u2018office bearers\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>TO READ AS FOLLOWS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>16. MEETINGS OF THE COMMITTEE:<\/u>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20.2 Six members of the Committee form a quorum.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>TO READ AS FOLLOWS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>20. MEETINGS OF THE COMMITTEE:<\/u>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20.2 Five members of the Committee form a quorum.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>21. POWERS OF COMMITTEE AND BYELAWS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">21.5 The Committee is empowered to incur expenditure on behalf of the Branch from Branch funds. The expenditure incurred and committed in any accounting year must not exceed the total annual income of the Branch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">21.6. The Committee shall not enter into any loan or credit arrangements that cannot be honoured by the Branch within the year of operation\u00a0unless a resolution\u00a0is passed at an Annual or Extraordinary General Meeting by a majority of at least two thirds of the\u00a0Members present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">21.7 No item of capital expenditure exceeding \u00a31,000 will be incurred by the Committee without the sanction of an Annual General Meeting or Extraordinary General Meeting exclusively called for this purpose.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>TO READ AS FOLLOWS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>21. POWERS OF COMMITTEE AND BYELAWS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">21.5 The Committee is empowered to incur expenditure on behalf of the Branch from Branch funds. The expenditure incurred and committed in any accounting year must not exceed the total income of the Branch reasonably expected for that accounting year, unless the expenditure was:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Previously identified in the budget approved at the Annual General Meeting; or<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Separately approved at an Extraordinary General Meeting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">21.6.
