JUNIOR MEMBER STEFAN OLIVERO'S VISIT OF A LIFETIME TO MANCHESTER UNITED

The Happy Faces Charitable Trust and the PJ Isola Foundation joined forces to grant ‘a wish of a lifetime’ to 12 year old Stefan Olivero - an all-expense paid trip to the UK to watch probably THE game of this Premier League season, with Manchester United v Chelsea on 3rd April 2010.

Stefan and his family flew from Gibraltar today on their way to the UK.  Debbie Garcia from Happy Faces Charity and Clive Moberley, Chairman of the   Manchester United Supporters Gibraltar Branch were at the airport to see them off and wish them a good trip.

The Happy Faces Charitable Trust - a Gibraltar-based charity which seeks to make a difference to the lives of children and young adults who reside in Gibraltar with chronic, critical or debilitating illnesses - decided that Stefan richly deserved this award.

Stefan has always been a fanatical Manchester United fan, but was too unwell to join in the recent celebrations in Gibraltar for the opening of the new Manchester United Supporters Gibraltar Branch premises during Sir Alex Ferguson’s visit last August. Stefan’s dream is to meet the players, visit the team’s historic ground at Old Trafford - the “Theatre of Dreams” - and watch the team play there.

Stefan will receive a fabulous hospitality package including a three-course meal before the game and a match day gift, programme and entertainment.  He will also be given £500 to spend in the Old Trafford Megastore.

With the kind assistance of Clive A. Moberley, Chairman of the Manchester United Supporters Gibraltar Branch, Stefan will be meeting the players in the player’s lounge  on Saturday before the kick-off against Chelsea, a ‘first’ for any Gibraltar Branch member. Stefan and his family will also be visiting United’s ‘state of the art’ training complex at Carrington, were he will be watching the players train and meet such super stars, such as Rooney (Wazza), Giggsy, Scholesy etc, and of course, Sir Alex Ferguson, who insisted last August that once Stefan recovered he was invited to come over an meet the players and staff.

In the photos Stefan and his family enjoyed a splendid day in the Player’s Lounge before the Chelsea match and then visited United’s training complex at Carrington to watch the players train and enjoy the facilities.
